3.8.3 Operational Details

• Usage Instructions:
  • Accessing the Topics Module:
    • Navigate to Bot Space → Topics from the sidebar menu.
    • Alternatively, use the quick menu on the home screen to access the Topics module directly.
  • Creating a New Topic:
    • Click the “Create Topic” button.
    • Enter Topic Name: Input a unique and descriptive name for the new topic.
    • Select Parent Topic: Choose an existing topic from the dropdown to establish hierarchy.
    • Click “Save” to finalize the creation.
    • Error Handling: If the topic name is missing or duplicates an existing topic, an error message will prompt for correction.
  • Editing an Existing Topic:
    • Locate the topic in the listing.
    • Click the “Edit” button next to the desired topic.
    • Update Topic Name: Modify the name as needed.
    • Change Parent Topic: Select a different parent topic if restructuring is required.
    • Click “Submit” to apply updates.
    • Error Handling: Similar to topic creation, ensure uniqueness and valid parent selection.
  • Deleting a Topic:
    • Locate the custom topic in the listing.
    • Click the “Delete” button next to the desired topic.
    • Confirm the deletion in the prompt.
    • Note: The “Default” topic cannot be deleted. Ensure that the topic has no child topics or associated FAQs before attempting deletion.
  • Assigning Topics to FAQs:
    • When creating or editing an FAQ, select the appropriate topic from the “Select Topic” dropdown.
    • Save the FAQ to apply the categorization.
    • Impact: Proper categorization enhances the bot’s recommendation system, enabling it to suggest relevant FAQs during user interactions.
